Exciting News! Foundations of Systems Sensing: An Exploratory Guide to the Sensing Journey Method is here!

Everyday I see examples of how communities navigating complexity need more than analytical frameworks—they need tools that center equity, justice, and lived experience in ways that are holistic, regenerative, and embodied. That’s why I was so excited to be invited to contribute to this book, by Collective Transitions, and its leaders, Luea Ritter and Nancy Zamierowski.

In addition to 18 other voices, my dear colleague and friend, Gloria Mayne Davó, and I demonstrate the ways in which Latine practitioners are bringing these methodologies into our work–both personal and professional. In doing so, we join other BIPOC leaders across the world who are not just engaging in, but actively shaping and leading systems sensing practices in their own communities.

In a world of deep uncertainty, how do we move beyond reaction and into attunement, deep listening, and embodied awareness? The Sensing Journey method, explored in this book, is a powerful approach to making sense of hidden patterns, cultivating trust, and transforming the way we see and shift systems from within.

This guide features 20 case stories—including ours—showing how sensing practices are being used to reimagine decision-making, governance, and community transformation. These tools are not just for practitioners; they are for anyone working in and with complexity, striving to build more just and regenerative futures.

We’re honored to contribute to this work and thrilled to share it with you. Let’s bring these tools to the communities that need them most. And, if you are interested in using this practice–reach out, we’d love to host a workshop!
